چکیده
In this article we use an electromagnetic Lagrangian constructed so as to include dispersive effects in the description of wave propagating quantum electrodynamic vacuum. This is Lorentz invariant, includes contributions up six powers fields, and involves both fields their first derivatives. Conceptual limitations inherent higher derivative approach are discussed. We consider one-dimensional spatial limit obtain exact solution nonlinear equation recovering Korteveg-de Vries type periodic waves solitons given S. V. Bulanov et al. [Phys. Rev. Interaction of high-order solitons with external dispersive waves.
The effect of mutual interaction between second-order soliton and dispersive waves (DWs) is investigated. It is predicted analytically and confirmed numerically that DWs (both transmitted and reflected components) become polychromatic after interaction with the soliton. Collision with DWs of considerable intensity can lead to acceleration/deceleration and central frequency shift of the soliton,...
متن کاملNonlinear Dispersive Waves on Trees
We investigate the well-posedness of a class of nonlinear dispersive waves on trees, in connection with the mathematical modeling of the human cardiovascular system. Specifically, we study the Benjamin-Bona-Mahony (BBM) equation, also known as the regularized long wave equation, posed on finite trees, together with standard junction and terminal boundary conditions. We prove that the Cauchy pro...
متن کاملEnergy-Momentum Tensors for Dispersive Electromagnetic Waves
Classical relativistic field theory is used as a basis for a general discussion of the problem of splitting up the total energy-momentum tensor ofa system into contributions from its component subsystems. Both the Minkowski and Abraham forms (including electrostriction) arise naturally in alternative split-up procedures applied to a nondispersive dielectric fluid. The case of an electromagnetic...
متن کاملHigh-order non-reflecting boundary conditions for dispersive waves
Problems of linear time-dependent dispersive waves in an unbounded domain are considered. The infinite domain is truncated via an artificial boundary B, and a high-order non-reflecting boundary condition (NRBC) is imposed on B. Then the problem is solved by a finite difference (FD) scheme in the finite domain bounded by B. The sequence of NRBCs proposed by Higdon is used. However, in contrast t...
